LOCAL – CDL A TRUCK DRIVER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Type: Full-time
Status: Non-exempt
Shift: Day

The CDL A Truck Driver is responsible for transporting loads from manufacturing plant to customers as well as picking up loads to return to the plant. Most loads are drop and pick. Truck Drivers are responsible for ensuring that their goods arrive safely and on schedule. The driver shift and hours may vary slightly depending on the business needs so the ideal driver for this position needs to be flexible.

Responsibilities:

Completing daily vehicle inspection of truck and trailers
Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
Securing cargo
Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving

Requirements:

Valid Class A CDL
Be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to pass D.O.T. compliance check
Reliable personal cell phone with Bluetooth to communicate with dispatch and driver
Must have experience with completing driver logs, BOL & truck inspections
Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in 48’ & 53′ vans backing into tight docks on a regular basis
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
Demonstrate punctuality by ensuring all deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
Doubles endorsement is a plus but not required

Supplemental Info:

Must be flexible to work overtime
1-2 day paid ride along so you’re ready to go on your own
